Getting Your Site Ready
A little prep on your side makes a big difference in speed, cure quality, and disruption to your operation. Here's the checklist we hand every customer.
Parking & Access
Vehicles left on the lot during work are the #1 cause of delays. Confirm which sections will be closed each day.
- Post no-parking signs 24 hours ahead
- Reserve a staging spot for our trucks
- Plan an alternate loading dock or drop-off lane
- Notify delivery drivers of the schedule
Utilities & Underground
We call 811 before any excavation, but you know your site better than anyone.
- Mark private irrigation lines and low-voltage wiring
- Point out sewer cleanouts, meters, and pull boxes
- Note septic lids or grease-trap access
- Share as-built drawings if available
Weather Expectations
Georgia weather sets our schedule. Mix must be placed above 50°F and stay dry through cure.
- We monitor NOAA forecasts daily
- Reschedules typically confirmed 24–48 hrs out
- Sealcoat needs 24 hrs of dry, ≥50°F weather to cure
- Fresh asphalt needs 24 hrs before traffic, longer in heat
Neighbor & Tenant Notice
The smoother the notification, the smoother the job. We supply the templates.
- Printable door hangers on request
- Email templates for tenant blasts
- ADA and fire-lane accommodations coordinated
- Church, school, and HOA communication supported
Site Readiness
The crew should arrive to a work area they can start on immediately.
- Clear dumpsters and pallets from the work zone
- Move planters, cones, and A-frames
- Lock gates open on scheduled days
- Trim overhanging branches under 14 ft
Access Planning
Fire lanes, emergency egress, and ADA stalls need a defined temporary route.
- Confirm alternate fire-truck access with your AHJ
- Identify ADA-accessible temporary parking
- Plan garbage-pickup detour with your hauler
- Reserve after-hours access for overnight pours
Prep Questions
How much notice do I need to give tenants or staff?
We recommend 5–7 days for commercial lots. We provide printable door hangers and email templates so tenants know exactly which stalls close on which day.
What happens if it rains?
Asphalt and sealer cannot go down on wet or cold surfaces. We track NOAA forecasts and will reschedule proactively — usually 24–48 hours before. Your slot moves to the next available dry window.
Do you need water or power onsite?
No. Our trucks are self-contained. We only need clear access to the work area and a staging spot for the sealer rig or paver.
