Water is the single biggest cause of pavement failure — and standing water is the smoking-gun symptom. If a lot has puddles that don't drain within an hour of a rainstorm, the pavement over that area is being destroyed twice as fast as pavement that sheds water properly. Repaving without solving the drainage is throwing money at symptoms. Drainage first, pavement second.
We install and repair the whole family of surface drainage structures: trench drains at loading docks and where sheet flow crosses the pavement, area drains and catch basins at low points, culverts under driveways and access roads, curb inlets tied into existing storm systems, and yard drains for problem residential areas. We also handle sub-drain (French drain) work where sub-grade saturation is the underlying issue.
Beyond structures, drainage often comes down to grade. A lot that was built with adequate slope can lose it over time — settlement, overlays that stacked up, curbs that moved. Regrading a problem area (mill, correct grade, overlay) sends water where it needs to go without new drainage infrastructure. We evaluate every drainage problem for both structural and grade fixes and quote whichever solves the problem for the lowest total cost.
Timing drainage work with paving is usually the smart move. When we're already mobilized with a mill and paver, adding a catch basin or a regrade to the scope is dramatically cheaper than a separate drainage mobilization later. Any lot that's on the schedule for a resurface should have a drainage review as part of the site walk.
